1. How do I request a commission?
You can submit your idea through the Commission Request Form on our website. Include as much detail as you’d like, concept, characters, mood, references, etc. Once received, we’ll review it and get back to you with a quote and timeline.
2. How much do your illustrations cost?
Pricing varies depending on the type of artwork, level of detail, and intended use (e.g., personal, commercial, or book cover).
A general price guide is available on our Pricing Page, and you will always receive a personalised quote before any work begins.
3. What information do you need from me?
Typically:
- A description of your idea
- Character details or references
- Preferred style or colour palette
- The intended use of the artwork
- Deadline (if any)
The more detail you provide, the better we can capture your vision.
4. Do you offer revisions?
Yes. All commissions include a set number of revisions at the sketch and colour stages. Extra revisions beyond that may have an additional cost, which will be discussed upfront.
5. How long does an illustration take?
Turnaround time depends on complexity and current workload.
Most commissions take 1–3 weeks, while full book cover illustrations may take 3–5 weeks. You will receive a clear timeline with your quote.
6. What payment methods do you accept?
We currently accept:
- PayPal
- Revolut
- Bank transfer
Payment instructions will be provided once your commission is approved.
7. Do I need to pay upfront?
A 50% deposit is required to secure your slot.
The remaining 50% is paid once the final artwork is approved, before the high-resolution files are delivered.
8. What file types will I receive?
Final artwork is delivered in high-resolution formats suitable for print and digital use, such as:
- PNG
- JPEG
- PDF (upon request)
Book covers can also be delivered with bleed, spine, and print specs if needed.
9. Can I use the artwork commercially?
Yes, commercial-use rights are available for an additional fee. Personal-use commissions do not include rights for selling, printing in books, or using in marketing.
All usage terms will be clearly outlined before starting.
10. Do you draw everything?
We specialise in:
- Book cover illustrations
- Character designs
- Portraits & stylised art
- Fantasy, sci-fi, and illustrative styles
We may decline commissions that fall outside our style or expertise (e.g., heavy graphic design, NSFW, or ultra-realistic portraits).
11. What if I cancel my commission?
Deposits are non-refundable once work begins.
If you cancel after significant progress has been made, additional partial payment may be required depending on the stage of completion.
12. Can I share the artwork online?
Yes! You’re welcome to post your commissioned art, but please credit Inkspire Illustrations when sharing online.
We may also share completed artwork in our portfolio unless you request otherwise.Edit FAQ
